Paul's Experience
"I have used drumming one to one with a dyslexic boy to help him learn to spell words. Each letter or syllable was beaten and vocalised on the drum simultaneously. His mother noticed how his spelling gradually improved over a period of months.
When drumming with a group of older people with Alzheimer's Disease, I noticed how remarkably well they could hold a rhythm.

Their cognitive impairment did not seem to significantly affect their ability to join in, enjoy themselves and, in some cases, excel.
These observations have fed my desire to find out more about how and why drums work!"
